Akademisk Boldklub A/S has signed the 19-year-old Irish striker, Onesime Tembe, on a three-year deal until June 2027. The young striker has previously been part of the Irish Premier Division club Bohemian FC’s U19 team.
AB’s head coach, Joey Gudjonsson, is both positive and patient about the club’s new talent: “Ossie trained with us last week and made a really good impression. He fit well into the dressing room with the other boys, and on the pitch he is a really exciting project for the future. I look forward to working with him and seeing him take the next steps.”
Onesime ‘Ossie’ Tembe was born in Ireland and can play both striker and winger.
“Ossie is a talented, young attacking player with power and speed. He has impressed the coaching staff during his trial training. He is well schooled in Ireland’s top flight and is a player with great development potential.”, says sporting director Jen Chang and continues: “We have had some injuries among the attacking players, so Tembe adds more depth to us.”
Tembe himself is a happy, new AB player: “I have got a good and professional first impression of the club. The players have welcomed me very well – they are talented and the training is intense. I hope I can help the team when the chance arises,” says Tembe. “I am a direct player who can both hold the ball and go in the back room, and the club’s style of play suits me well.”
The agreement also means that Tembe is moving away from his home country for the first time: “I always want to take chances, and moving to a new country is a chance. I want to play football internationally, and Denmark is a good place to play, so the opportunity to move to AB was just the right one.”
