AB has signed Ahmed Hassan, who has most recently played for Hillerød in the NordicBet Liga. Ahmed has signed a deal that runs until the summer of 2025.
“We are thrilled to have signed Ahmed, who strengthens our options in the final third. Ahmed comes with good experience from both the NordicBet League and the 2. Division. In our conversations with him, it was clear that we get a very motivated player who adds good offensive qualities to us,” says head coach David Roufpanah.
Ahmed will officially arrive with the team for the start on January 12, after spending the first half of the 2023/2024 season at Hillerød. Prior to Hillerød, he had 9 goals and 3 assists in 32 appearances for Nykøbing in the 2022/2023 NordicBet Liga season. At Næstved, he scored 30 goals and had 8 assists in 58 games in the 2. Division during the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 seasons.
“AB is a club with a long history and after a good talk with David, I became convinced that it can be the right step for me. I believe AB has the potential to play at a higher level and hope I can be part of what can get AB up,” says Ahmed Hassan.
Ilias Namli is loaned out to FA2000
At the same time, we have chosen to loan out striker Ilias Namli, who in the spring will play for FA2000 in the 2. Division. “We feel that Ilias is in a place where he needs continuous playing time at senior level to be able to take the next step in his development. During the autumn he got playing time in both the 1st senior and U19 teams, but we expect that the opportunity for additional minutes for FA2000 can help to support the good development he is in.” says David Roufpanah.
Furthermore, winger Abel Walatee has had a desire to return home to Australia. We have chosen to accommodate his request and have released him as of 31/12-2023. He appeared in 4 games during the autumn, where he scored a single goal in the Oddset Cup. He also had 2 goals in 5 games for AB U19.
