AB Gladsaxe played tonight the 7th game in the regular season. It was a great 2-0 victory over Fremad Amager. Compared to the last game, where the opponent was FC Roskilde, there were five changes in the starting line-up: Hørdur Askham was back after international matches for the Faroe Islands, Christian Espensen Troelsen, Daniel A. Pedersen, Lucas Ørneborg and debutant Darren Sidoel started on the pitch. Pachanga Kristensen, Emiliano Arrieta, Emiliano Gomez, Killian van Mil and Christian Wagner were out.
This gave the following starting line-up:
3 Erik Lindell
4 Adrien Koudelka
5 Rasmus Brodersen
6 Daniel A. Pedersen
8 Darren Sidoel
16 Albert Gaub-Jacobsen
18 Lucas Eagle
22 Tim Freriks
24 Mark Garly Pedersen
26 Christian Espensen Troelsen
40 Hard Askham
AB had changed a little in the formation and played with a 3-man defensive line. Darren Sidoel made a really good impression in his debut game, and already after 3 min. he plays Tim Freriks free with a fantastic pass, and Tim Freriks scores to make it 1-0. After the goal, the game waves back and forth. AB gradually gets more play and Fremad Amager gets its first real chance after the 17th minute on a header, which ends up in the arms of Albert Gaub-Jacobsen.
Darren Sidoel and Mark Garly Pedersen had an energetic running curriculum and tied the midfield well together. After 27 minutes, Rasmus Brodersen makes a good sharp pass to Tim Freriks, who after two dribbles could send the ball into the goal for a 2-0 lead.
After the score to 2-0, Fremad Amager makes a substitution and puts Louis Keita close to Tim Freriks. Throughout the game, there were more chances for AB than there were for Fremad Amager, who played and combined quickly and nicely, but it didn’t really come to dangerous finishes. Fremad Amager tried to put pressure on AB from the start of the 2nd half and within the first 3 minutes had as many as 3 corner kicks, which AB managed to avert well. AB had several chances, but there was not enough consistency in the finishing. It was very close, however, as the combinations flowed between Tim Freriks, Mark Garly Pedersen and Lucas Ørneborg, but unfortunately Lucas Ørneborg was well covered. Ilias Namli came on the field late in the game and managed to create a finish, but the goalkeeper was ready with a save.
There was a good atmosphere at Gladsaxe Stadium, where AB’s fans once again gave solid support to the team. It was an approved and great game by a very energetic and focused AB team that fought really well.
Head coach David Roufpanah said these words about the match: “It was great to get a win today. There was a really good energy in the team. It was good to see. The way the players stood together and in every single situation we played hard. A good evening with three good points. We played more controlled and disciplined today. We also create good chances. It was clearly a good game from our side. Of course, we can do even better. We have many sequences we can develop. So that’s positive. But now we have to enjoy the three points and we have to do that together with our fans. The way we come out to the game at Gladsaxe Stadium together with our fans – it’s just fantastic.”
Captain Daniel A. Pedersen followed up the victory with these words: “Nice with a win today. It was a real team victory – we all fought extremely well for each other. We are in a good position. We control the game, but towards the end of the game we will stand a little too low and we will not stand so low. But it’s very natural when you have a 2-0 lead. They don’t create much and never really become dangerous. They have a bit of “just-by-and-near-chances. They were strong on standards, but I think we were and stood up to that well. Our defense is extremely good today. We followed our gameplan well. We can play better, but it will come. The most important thing was the three points.”
