AB Gladsaxe wins 2-0 over HIK
AB Gladsaxe played today against HIK, who before the match were ranked 10th in the 2nd division. AB Gladsaxe was ranked 4th before the match, and so were the teams when the referee blew the whistle. AB won 2-0 on goals by Frederik Ellegaard on a penalty kick and Marcus Mustac Gudmann on a great header. Before the match, Albert Nørager was honored for 100 games in the green jersey, and head coach Patrick Birch Braune was also honored for leading the team for 100 games. The coaching team had chosen the same starting line-up as in the match against BK Frem. Simon Holden was back in the squad after a long injury layoff. He came on after 35 minutes when Silas Trier Madsen unfortunately had to leave the pitch with an injury. Simon Holden also took over the captain’s armband. 634 spectators witnessed another AB victory, where the result was created in the 1st half, while the 2nd half was left to HIK. However, they did not manage to create any decisive chances. AB played high up the pitch and pressured HIK to stay in their own half. After 7 minutes Emil Wass searches for goal along the back line and plays the ball backwards to Alessio Alicino, who sends a good shot, but unfortunately not for a goal. A little later AB got a free kick on the right side close to the box, but Marcus Mustac Gudmann sent the ball past goal this time. After 24 min. Frederik Ellegaard receives a nicely played pass inside and sprints away from the defender, so HIK’s goalkeeper has to take him down. Frederik Ellegaard safely puts the ball in behind the goalkeeper for the 1-0 lead in the 26th minute. HIK still didn’t create many chances, and after 34 min. Marcus Mustac Gudmann rises high after a cross and heads the ball into the goal for 2-0. In the second half, AB pulled back on the pitch and let HIK be the team to create play and chances. However, HIK did not manage to convert the play into goal-scoring chances.
Head coach Patrick Birch Braune said after the game: “We did our job in the first half. The second half was not very entertaining. We show maturity and close the match. It’s HIK’s job to come back and make the game exciting. It’s not ours. Big praise to the boys – it was mature and a really strong effort. We felt pretty comfortable throughout the game both defensively and offensively. That’s one of the things we’ve struggled with in other games. We took the tempo out of the game, we rested in the game both with and without the ball. We haven’t been able to do that in many games, if we are to be critical, and we wanted to do better and we did that well in the second half. We have great harmony and synergy in the team”.
Captain Silas Trier Madsen said after the match: “We played an incredible first half where we dominated and created chances. We deserved to be 2-0 up. It was a slightly different second half, where we got a little further down and didn’t have the ball as much. But I don’t think HIK were dangerous. Super nice that we can keep a clean sheet – we haven’t done that for a long time. We also got ahead in the match and we haven’t done that for a long time either. Great performance by the boys and three points again”.
After the match, the squad voted Marcus Mustac Gudmann player of the match. Starting line-up with substitutions: 25 Tobias Brogaard (m) 3 Gustav Overgaard Hansen 4 Anton Basbas Pedersen 7 Frederik Ellegaard out – 13 Mads Vang in 8 Emil Wass out – 23 Mican Atici in 9 Emil Mygind out – 17 Christoffer Thrane in 11 Oliver Angus 19 Albert Nørager 21 Alessio Alicino out – 14 James Iheme in 22 Silas Trier Madsen out – 18 Simon Holden in 30 Marcus Mustac Gudmann Next match is against Brabrand in Aarhus on November 5 at 14.
