AB Gladsaxe has signed Australian winger Abel Walatee, who joins the club on a four-year contract that runs until June 2027. The 19-year-old versatile player comes to AB from the renowned Western United FC’s academy.
A versatile offensive player with speed and creativity
AB’s head coach, David Roufpanah, describes Walatee’s abilities as follows: “Abel is a versatile offensive player with speed and creativity in the final third,”.
“He gives us options on both the right and left wing and can also be used as a second striker or attacking midfielder,” he elaborates.
During this season, Walatee managed to score 4 goals and 6 assists in just 15 matches for Western United’s senior academy. In the 2022 season, he managed to contribute 10 goals and 9 assists in 23 matches for both the U21 and senior academy.
Enthusiasm for Danish football
Walatee expresses his excitement about coming to AB: “I am happy to sign with AB. I specifically sought to come to Denmark. It is a country that is known for playing football at a high level, and where there is great competition in the leagues. I hope to be able to continue my development as a player at the club.”
The club looks forward to welcoming Walatee to the team in the upcoming season.
