AB Gladsaxe has signed 28-year-old defender Hørður Heðinsson Askham from HB Torshavn.
The experienced central defender has signed a two-year deal with AB Gladsaxe, which runs until the summer of 2025. He comes to the club from the top Faroese league, where he has previously played for HB Torshavn.
Askham brings with him a wealth of experience from European club competitions and national team football. During his time at HB Torshavn, he appeared in 5 Champions League qualifiers and 10 Europa League qualifiers. Askham has also represented the Faroe Islands, where he appeared in the World Cup qualifier against Denmark in Parken back in November 2021.
Possesses a combination of physical strength and progressive passing
Head coach David Roufpanah says the following about the new addition: “Askham comes with important experience from European qualifiers for club teams as well as from national team football, where he has represented the Faroe Islands. As a player, Hørdur fits well into our style of play. He has a combination of physical strength and a progressive passing game, and that is important for the way we want to play. He also comes in with a good attitude and a desire to develop himself and the team.”
Everyone in the club warmly welcomes Askham to AB Gladsaxe!
