The last match of the season tomorrow will be a farewell to six players from the first team squad, all of whom will leave the club on June 30th.
Oliver Børner, Marcus Hørbye, Sylvester Seeger-Hansen, Christoffer Thrane and Mads Vang will all leave the club after this season. In addition, Axel Wallenborg will return to Djurgårdens IF after his loan spell.
The club would especially like to pay tribute to Oliver Børner, Marcus Hørbye and Sylvester Seeger-Hansen, who are all ending a proud chapter in their childhood club.
Oliver Børner has been a familiar figure among fans during his time at AB. Impressively, the goalkeeper has made his mark as a goalscorer with a fantastic free kick goal in one of his 26 matches for the senior team. Børner has enjoyed great popularity and respect among his teammates, and his contribution to creating a good and friendly environment extends not only to the dressing room, but to the entire club.
Marcus Hørbye can look back on a time at the club with a total of 63 matches. The defender has delivered solid performances and has even contributed with eight goals wearing the green shirt. In addition to his footballing skills, Hørbye, also known as “Speaky”, has helped create calm around the team with his relaxed energy.
Sylvester Seeger-Hansen has impressed with his performances in the AB shirt over the years. The midfielder has appeared in a total of 168 matches, scoring 25 goals, which places him as the 10th most played player in the club’s history. During his time in the AB shirt, Sylvester has been an important part of the club’s development, and he has been a leader among his teammates.
Erik Stover says: “These six players have all contributed to the team’s success. We have had a fantastic group of players who together have created an environment focused on well-being and security. Everyone at the club is grateful for their dedication and hard work during their time at AB, and we wish them all the best in the future.”
The club will say goodbye to Børner, Hørbye, Seeger-Hansen, Thrane and Wallenborg at the last match of the season against Aarhus Fremad, which will take place at 14:00 at Fredensvang tomorrow. However, Mads Vang is expected to continue his rehabilitation at the club, after which he will have the opportunity to train with the team again.
