AB extends with the captain
Head coach Patrick Braune is delighted that Silas Trier Madsen has signed a contract with the club until the summer of 2025, making him a long-term part of the project. One of AB’s big profiles on and off the pitch will remain at the club for the next few years. Captain Silas Trier Madsen has extended his contract with AB until the summer of 2025. This is a clear signal that the central midfielder will be a significant part of the project to take AB forward. “I’m very happy with my new contract. Both on my own behalf, but most of all because AB is a club that means a lot to me. I’ve played in the youth teams and now the senior team. We are a lot of players and coaches who know each other really well and we have a really good team spirit. That’s one of the most important things for me,” says Silas Trier Madsen, who knows the club inside out. He also knows head coach Patrick Braune intimately, who has coached his captain since his youth years in AB. “It means a lot to get an extension with Silas. Both on and off the pitch. He’s a talisman for us, and it’s an important signal that he feels he can develop even more at the club,” says Patrick Braune and elaborates. “Silas is a culture bearer who makes sure that we train and act in a way that is in line with the club’s values.” It’s not just off the pitch that Silas Trier Madsen is a captain and leader. He also does so in the game on it. “Silas is good with the ball. He’s a player you can pass it to, even if he’s under pressure. A smart player who distributes and takes responsibility when we have the ball, and he is extremely strong in duels without the ball,” praises Patrick Braune. Silas Trier Madsen came to AB as a youth player from Lyngby after an injury that had affected him a lot. It also affected his enjoyment of football, which he rediscovered under Patrick Braune’s leadership in his youth years. Just like now, Silas Trier Madsen was captain of AB’s U-15 and U-17 teams. Right now, he’s taking a Christmas break from soccer before starting the spring season with the rest of the team on January 5. “January can’t come too fast now. We players are sitting at home waiting. Many of us are looking forward to getting started,” says Silas Trier Madsen.
