AB has signed goalkeeper Jesper Sørensen. Jesper, who most recently played for Kolding in the NordicBet League, has been given a contract that runs until the summer of 2025.
“Jesper showed up really well in his trial period. It is clear to see that he has a good learning from his youth years, and you can see from his game that he has experience with senior football.”
is head coach David Roufpanah.
“We are very happy to have brought in another Danish goalkeeper talent. He has already shown us in his short time at AB that he is hungry to learn and improve, which helped convince us that he should be at AB. AB is a club with proud traditions of educating and developing players, so there was a good match between Jesper and AB.”
Jesper is 20 years old and a product of Esbjerg’s youth department. He made his senior debut in the Nordicbet League against Hillerød in December 2021. He played 6 more games for Esbjerg in the first half of the 2022/23 season in the 2nd division before moving to Kolding in September 2023.
“It feels great to come to such a club rich in tradition. It is a club with really high ambitions, and I hope that it can be a really good time both for me and for the club.” says Jesper.
The club has mutually agreed to say goodbye to Indy Groothuizen, who will return to the Netherlands. Groothuizen joined AB in January 2023, reaching a total of 9 games for AB. Groothuizen will especially be remembered for his efforts in the cup triumph over Vejle BK on November 1, 2023, where he saved two penalties and sent AB into the quarter-finals.
