Akademisk Boldklub A/S has entered into an agreement with striker Marco Ramkilde, who joins from Aalborg BK.
“Marco is a great addition to our team, and we look forward to integrating his strengths into the team in the coming season. His experience from both Denmark and abroad will be important to us in our efforts to achieve promotion. I am sure that he will fit perfectly into our squad, and we look forward to welcoming him after the summer break,” says head coach Gudjonsson.
26-year-old Ramkilde, has signed a two-year deal with AB, which runs until June 2026. Ramkilde started his career in AaB’s youth academy and was promoted to the club’s first team in 2017. Ramkilde also spent two seasons with English Championship side QPR between 2020-22 before returning to AaB.
“From the first talk with Joi, I have felt that AB is a good match for me. I think AB is working on an exciting project, and I am sure that I can contribute to fulfilling the club’s sporting ambitions for promotion,” says Ramkilde. “I look forward to meeting up with the squad after the holidays and meeting all the people in and around the club.”

Ramkilde spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Hvidovre IK, where he scored 3 goals in 10 appearances, 6 of which were in the Superliga.
“Marco is a strong player who brings a physical presence to our attack with his size and speed,” said sporting director Jen Chang. “Right now, we are focusing on bringing in players who want to dedicate themselves to AB and are willing to take on the challenge of lifting the club to a higher level. We are happy that he has chosen AB over all the other opportunities he has had.”
