A very important match ahead

Tomorrow, Sunday 3 November at 13.00, AB Gladsaxe meets Næstved BK at Næstved Stadium, MTM Service Park. Næstved is relegated from the 1st division and is number eight in the table with 16 points before this weekend’s games. AB is number 9 in the table with 15 points.

Næstved are back at Næstved Stadium after playing at Slagelse Stadium. The match will be played on a new, beautiful hybrid pitch.

The first match of the season was between AB and Næstved at Gladsaxe Stadium in early August. The game ended 1-1, and AB’s scorer was August Hlynsson.

AB got an early goal against them, but AB equalized, and if there should have been a winner, it was probably AB.

In recent games, Næstved have lost 1-0 in Gentofte to HIK. AB drew 0-0 against Skive IK in Skive.

AB has Marcus Bobjerg in quarantine, while Næstved will have to do without Mark Kongstedt and Frederik Christensen.

The match is refereed by Anders Skjødt and on the lines are Ulrik Gøtze and Søren Stagaard.

Gross squad for the match:

Rasmus Brodersen hopes for more benefit from the chances.

“We are going to Næstved and again keep a clean sheet. We have to make much more of the chances we create, so we have to be effective in their field. If we are, then a long-awaited victory will also come to us.

We know that Næstved is a really good team. They are in a good position on the pitch and they have performed better than they are in the table. We are sure that it will be a close and intense match, which we look forward to playing and hopefully winning.

In the run-up to the match, we have had a lot of focus on our own game and the way we play in relation to winning the match,” concludes Rasmus Brodersen.

Head coach Joey Gudjonsson wants to get away from the current position in the table.

“We are in a very challenging period. We have shown good performances, there has been a lot of team spirit and positive approach, but it has not been enough. It is a very even division, except for Fremad Amager, which has done very well. Our only problem right now is that we are not getting the victories that we think we deserve. We play too many games and that is definitely something that we have to change tomorrow. Even though we play away against Næstved, we want to take control of the game from the start, and we go there to get a win.

Attack-wise, we have a lot of chances, pass across and create space. We haven’t been aggressive enough and we haven’t been fast enough to get into scoring positions. With a little more intensity, I’m sure we can turn our luck in our favor, because we really need the three points.

It’s difficult, because we have a squad that is good, and where we can see from the statistical elements after the games that the players are doing the right things. Defensively, we are in a good position, and it is difficult to face us. Now it’s about taking advantage of the advantages that we can see we have in every game.

We are all disappointed to be at the bottom of the standings. We can’t change that now, and we can’t change it by talking about it. We can only change that on the pitch and we have to see the will to win, fight and put everything into the fight to win.

We will not be in the location that we are at the moment. Whether we like it or not, and whether we feel we deserve something else, we are the only ones who can change it – and we can start winning tomorrow,” concludes Joey Gudjonsson.
