2-2 in a difficult match

In tonight’s game, the goalkeeper position was taken by Albert Gaub-Jakobsen, who replaced Indy Groothuizen. Ilias Namli started on the pitch, and Christian Wagner had to take a seat on the bench. Hørður Askham took his place in central defence, where he replaced Ibrahim Doumbia. AB Gladsaxe got a point home from Frederiksberg. An approved 1st half and a 2nd half that did not live up to expectations. 515 spectators had turned up, and there is no doubt which team had the largest share in the number of spectators and the atmosphere. Throughout the match, AB was supported tactfully by the many fans.

After 7 minutes, AB got ahead on a dry shot from outside the box by Tim Freriks. There were several chances for AB, but none resulted in more goals. AB came to stand further back on the pitch, and FA2000 came into the game better. After 22 minutes, AB had 3 chances in quick succession to increase the lead, but that didn’t result in goals either. FA2000 came closer with a shot, which luckily went past the goal. In general, FA2000 got more going after AB’s goal.

From the start of the 2nd half, FA2000 pressed harder, and after a ball loss from AB’s side, Oskar Høybye got a free run towards goal. His finish was good and the equaliser was a reality. With about a quarter of an hour left of the game, an AB defender headed the ball back into the box, but also directly out to Sami Jalal, who could score and put FA2000 ahead 2-1.

The game went into the referee’s injury time, and AB put tremendous pressure on the FA 2000’s goal. After two corner kicks and in the 5th minute of overtime, Hörður Askham managed to equalize to 2-2 to great cheers both on the pitch and on the stands.

After the game, head coach David Roufpanah said: “It was a difficult game, as I had said beforehand. A difficult pitch to play football on. It is difficult to make passes and have quality in the passes for both teams. But we have too long a period where we should have approached the game differently. I have to reflect on that and figure out how I can get the players to play faster. I have a lot to reflect on this weekend. Then we will have to see what we come up with. It’s not good to concede two goals. On top of that, we show that we can come back. We score goals again, we create chances again and we are still unbeaten and we have to build on that. Thank you to the many fans – they really created a home atmosphere.”

Captain Daniel A. Pedersen said: “It was not good enough today. Of course, it’s good enough that we come back and get a point. We have to play a little bit more, and we end up playing too much with long balls. The pitch is difficult and uneven, but we have to play more today. Positive that we came back, otherwise there is a lot we have to work on.”

AB fielded the following starting line-up:

16. Albert Gaub-Jacobsen

3. Erik Lindell

4. Adrien Koudelka

5. Rasmus Brodersen

6. Daniel A. Pedersen

8. Emil Wass

11. Killian van Mil

19. Ilias Namli

22. Tim Frerik’s 24. Marc Garly Pedersen

40. Harsh Askham
