1-1 in the last training match

1-1 in the last training match
Earlier today, AB Gladsaxe played their last training match before the spring season begins. Today’s opponent was HIK, and in the table it was a battle between top and bottom. It was not so clear. AB got off to a good start with fine play, crosses, chances and finishes. The match ended 1-1 with a goal for HIK in injury time. Silas Trier Madsen was back and took one of the 11 places in the starting lineup. However, only 20 minutes passed before he unfortunately had to retire and Rasmus Møller took over. He did very well. HIK’s left wing – former AB striker Mican Atici, had some dangerous attempts, but despite some finishes it didn’t turn into goals. Tobias Brogaard had a good first half and denied all attempts to score. AB had a number of chances on conversions, but also in the established play in HIK’s half. The finishes were not converted into goals. From the outside, the referee could have called penalties in a couple of situations, but the whistle was silent. After 39 minutes AB had perhaps the best attack of the match. Well-organized and fast play, where the ball ended up on the right side of Oliver Angus, who scored a great goal to put AB ahead 1-0.Just before the break, Frederik Ellegaard got a great chance when he was played free and dribbled quickly towards the goal. He lifted the ball over the advancing HIK goalkeeper – but the ball went wide, much to the annoyance of everyone, not least Frederik himself. Albert Gaub-Jacobsen took his place in goal from the start of the second half, and he had several very strong saves. HIK came more into the game. They had a couple of great chances, but failed to score. AB also had their chances, but the final sharpness was missing. In added time, there was a moment of inattention in the defense. A HIK player sent a really good long shot and it ended up in the goal to equalize 1-1. It was also the result of the match. After the match, head coach Patrick Birch Braune said: “I think we played a good training match. We played some good football, were good on the ball and looked sharp. We still have some tricks up our sleeves that we don’t want to unfold until we play Aarhus Fremad. We’ll get closer here in the final test. The game was really good. If we had been a little sharper in both areas, it wouldn’t have been a close game today. Now we’re just looking forward to the spring premiere next Sunday”. Sunday, March 12 at 15:00 it’s AB time again. So the next week of training will be spent getting the final details in place – and then making sure we’re fresh in mind and body.
